Death, o wait!

This is probably one of the hardest posts for me to type as I started counting how many deaths so far in my family and friends’ circle. 8 deaths out of nearly 8 years I am far from home. This post is not about international students’ struggles nor about what grief I should express to the world. Though its sole purpose is not to comfort those who are in pain, I hope the truth contained in it will. This post is rather of my own observation that death can come so easy and as swiftly as a whirlwind. I beg you, my dear friends, coworkers, sisters and brothers in Christ, family, mother, grandma, dads, siblings, cousins, relatives and church attendants to reconsider: how much time do you actually have left?

For those who are in pain, there is a God Almighty who knows your very present sorrow. He is the God of all comforts. In fact, no one could understand the suffering and pain of separation more than God Himself. 2000 years ago, God sent His Son whose name is Jesus to die for our sins. On the cross, Jesus received the pouring wrath of God for billions upon billions of people on earth for their past, present and future sins including yours. Jesus died and was buried for 3 days, 3 nights. Because He was sinless, He defeated sins and death. He rose again after three days. Resurrection sets Him apart from every other gods. If you accept this salvation by God’s grace through faith and receive Jesus into your heart as Savior and the Lord of your life (your life now is His). You will be forever with Him where there will be no more sorrow. This is a sure hope which should bring comforts to sorrowful souls. Bring your sorrow unto Him and trade for the joy of salvation.

Death expands from those in the womb to those of full age, none can escape. One thing in common is that they can carry nothing with them. As the rich man in Luke said in his heart, I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

But I’m afraid you might buy in to the lies of Satan to harden your heart before the truths. The rich man is not judged because he does not know God but rather he has stopped considering God. God knows though for many years later, this rich man is still full of himself and God is nowhere to be found in his heart. The same soul that God gave, He took it away.

Do you have hope and peace in the way you are walking? The Lord is not slack concerning His promise but is longsuffering to-us ward that all should come to repentance. When your heart is hardened, judgment will come in no delay. The fear of death is the judgment to come. What can be worse not knowing where you will end up after you die? The Bible is written that you know that you can have eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ. If you receive His salvation, you will live in heaven with Him.

Worsely, though you know that there is an Almighty God but you still think you are good enough to stand before Him. Regardless of how many people whom you had helped, how much money you spent on the poor or how good you were as a child, how rich, how poor, how respectful, how young, how old, how strong, how talented, how beautiful, or how you conduct your life. In front of a holy righteous God, who can say they are cleansed from all sins? Have an honest heart, and say surely “no not one, including me”. Therefore, repent and humble yourself before the Lord Jesus Christ. Consider His blessings bestowed upon you for all fulfilled biblical promises you lived out unknowingly. He is a righteous God to bless, therefore He is also righteous to judge.

It’s not that God judged us based on whether we put our faith in Him or not (I speak as I heard from some who said “God is unjust, because He sends people to hell for not believing Him) but the truth is that we are already judged based on our sins. Because God is righteous therefore He must judge. God being gracious has made the way for us to escape judgement through Jesus Christ.

I want to comfort you but nothing can comfort more than the truth from a gracious God whose will is for all to be saved. The same brings an anchored hope to your soul.

I solely stand on the truth. Doctrinal explanation please message me directly.
